CanvassLite review: what it is and what it does
CanvassLite is a browser-based door-to-door platform. You paste or upload an address list, and the vendor's pages say it places the addresses on a map. Reps open an invite link on a phone and log each visit by status. Managers see completion rates and assign territories. The vendor aims it at sales teams, political campaigns and field organizations, and it prices plans by how many addresses they hold, not by how many people use them.
This review reads the vendor's pricing page, home page, terms, privacy policy and a comparison article on its own blog, all fetched October 30, 2026. It states no amounts, because plan amounts belong on the vendor's live page. The pricing guide explains the plan structure.
What the vendor lists
- Setup: import addresses by paste or CSV, then share an invite link. The home page says volunteers join with a name, with no account and no app download.
- Field tools: a color-coded territory map, offline logging that syncs when signal returns, route optimization, GPS check-in and a live team map.
- Manager tools: a dashboard of completion rates, team chat, charts by day, rep or status, and CSV export of visit results.
- Integration: the home page lists a REST API with keys created in settings, and Zapier as one route.
- Campaign tools: voter scoring, door scripts, printable walk lists, yard sign and absentee ballot tracking and an Election Day mode. A sales team can ignore these.
- Backups: automatic snapshots about every four hours with a 14-day restore window, included on some plans.
Where the vendor's own pages disagree
The pages read here do not always match each other. Check each point below with the vendor before you rely on it.
- Team size: the pricing page says unlimited team members on every plan. The terms say each plan has limits on households and volunteers, and they describe the trial as up to 10,000 households and 15 volunteers.
- Refunds: the pricing page says a 30-day money-back guarantee covers all plans. The terms say no partial refunds are given for unused time in a billing period.
- Backups: the plan tiles list backups on Growth as well as Pro and the one-time plans, while a home page FAQ and the terms name only Pro and the one-time plans.
- Location: the privacy policy says device location is used in the browser to center the map and is not stored on the vendor's servers. The home page lists GPS check-in with coordinates and a live team map.
- Plan names: the pricing page says Season Pass and Season Pro, the home page says Seasonal, and the terms say Campaign Pass and Campaign Pro.
Limits the vendor states about itself
A comparison article on the vendor's own blog, dated February 8, 2026, says CanvassLite is a web app with no native mobile app, which matters if you need location tracking while the browser is closed. It also says there is no CRM integration beyond CSV export and no built-in sales pipeline. The home page, read the same day, lists a REST API and Zapier, so ask the vendor which statement is current.
The terms describe the service as built for political campaigns, civic organizations and advocacy groups, which is narrower than the home page's sales team wording. A sales team should ask the vendor to confirm the fit in writing.
Cost and billing terms to read first
- Plans: three monthly plans and two one-time 12-month plans, separated by address capacity. The pricing page lists limits of 1,500, 10,000 and 300,000 addresses.
- Trial: 14 days with no credit card. The terms say adding addresses and logging visits stop when the trial ends, until a paid plan starts.
- Cancellation: the terms say it takes effect at the end of the billing period.
- Price changes: the terms allow changes with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.
- Data after you leave: the terms say data is kept 60 days after a trial or subscription ends, with a warning email at 30 days, and is then deleted. Export a CSV before then.
Who CanvassLite fits, and who should pick something else
- Fits: owners and managers of small door-knocking crews who want a map, visit statuses and a manager view without per-seat charges, and campaign field directors running volunteers.
- Check the address limit first. A team that loads many thousands of new addresses a season can outgrow the smaller plans.
- Consider SalesRabbit or SPOTIO if you need pipelines, appointment setting, e-contracts or CRM sync built in. SalesRabbit vs SPOTIO sets those two side by side.
- Consider a field CRM such as Knockio if you want one app for canvassing and service work. The best door-to-door sales app guide compares all four by cost structure.
- Keep your own copy. The terms say canvassing data is deleted 60 days after a trial or subscription ends, and they allow a CSV export at any time, so export your records regularly.
