What is CanvassLite? What it does, how it works and who uses it

What CanvassLite is, how its map, invite links and visit logging work, and what it leaves to other tools, read from the vendor's pages on October 30, 2026.

Quick answerCanvassLite is a web app for door-to-door outreach. You import an address list, split it into territories, share an invite link and log each visit by status on a map. The vendor sells it to sales teams, political campaigns and field organizations. It is not a sales CRM and it has no native phone app.

What is CanvassLite?

CanvassLite is software for teams that knock on doors. Its home page calls it a mobile-first door-to-door platform for sales teams, political campaigns and field organizations. In practice it is a map of addresses with a status on each one, plus the tools a manager needs to split the map between people and see what got done.

The spelling matters. The product name has two s letters, and Google's autocomplete on October 30, 2026 offered a one-s spelling for the typed word. Check the address of any site you sign up on.

How it works, step by step

  • Create a project and name a territory, then paste addresses or upload a CSV from a spreadsheet, CRM or voter file. The home page says the addresses are placed on the map within minutes.
  • Invite the team by sending a link by text or email. The home page says volunteers join with a name and need no account or app download.
  • Reps open the map on a phone, tap an address and log the result. The pages say visits made offline sync when the signal returns.
  • Managers watch a dashboard, assign territories and export results as CSV.

What each part does

  • Territory map: colors addresses by visit status and shows each person's area.
  • Route tool: orders stops to shorten the walk, according to the home page.
  • Team tools: chat, work sessions, a live team map and GPS check-in and check-out.
  • Analytics: doors knocked, conversion rates and leaderboards by day, rep or status.
  • Data: visit results export as CSV at any time, and the terms say records are kept 60 days after a trial or subscription ends.
  • Campaign modules: voter scoring, door scripts, walk list PDFs and an Election Day mode for campaigns.

Who uses it, according to the vendor

The home page lists solar and energy, home services, pest control, political campaigns, county races, insurance, non-profits and real estate. The terms describe the service in narrower words, as a platform for political campaigns, civic organizations and advocacy groups, and say campaign pages may be used for door-to-door outreach including field sales. A sales team can ask the vendor to confirm how it treats commercial use, and to say in writing which limits on households and volunteers apply to its plan. Campaign teams should check the same points, because the terms also place voter data rules on the customer.

What CanvassLite is not

  • Not a sales CRM. A comparison article on the vendor's own blog says there is no built-in sales pipeline and no CRM integration beyond CSV export, though the home page lists a REST API and Zapier.
  • Not a native phone app. The same article says it is a web app.
  • Not priced per seat. The pricing page says every plan has unlimited team members and differs by address capacity, while the terms mention limits on volunteers.
  • Not a job, estimate or invoice tool. Those belong to field service software.
