The 12-month term on Walklists' monthly plans
Walklists paid plans run on a 12-month term that renews automatically, whether you pay monthly or annually. Its FAQ adds that after a cancellation the remaining monthly payments in that term are still charged.
CanvassLite's monthly plans renew each month, and its terms end a canceled plan at the close of the billing period. For a seasonal push, the CanvassLite Season Pass price is $399 paid once for up to 10,000 addresses and 12 months of access, per its pricing page; what happens after month 12 is not documented.
Political campaigns: flat plans on both sides
Walklists also sells flat plans for political canvassing, with unlimited volunteers and a price set by contact volume. Local, Campaign, Organization and Party cost $29, $59, $99 and $199 a month, billed monthly, for 2,500, 5,000, 10,000 and 25,000 contacts, or $23, $49, $79 and $159 billed annually. Starter is free forever, with 500 contacts, 3 walklists and 1 campaign.
Take a county campaign field director with 40 volunteer canvassers who is choosing between a free app, MiniVAN and a flat-price canvassing app. NGP VAN's pages show no MiniVAN price, route to a demo, and say VoteBuilder access comes through each state Democratic party.
CanvassLite Growth is $199 a month for 10,000 addresses, and Walklists Organization is $99 a month, billed monthly, for 10,000 contacts. The units differ, so compare list size in each app's own count. The best political canvassing app guide sets more options side by side.
CanvassLite 14-day trial against the Walklists free Starter
Walklists offers a free Starter plan with no card and no term, plus a 7-day trial of its paid plans that takes a card and charges nothing if you cancel before day 8. CanvassLite has no free plan. Its terms run the 14-day trial at Growth-level access, up to 10,000 households and 15 volunteers, so a 40-volunteer crew trials with part of the team.
CanvassLite's 14-day trial takes no card, where Walklists asks for one before its 7-day trial.
Who should pick CanvassLite and who should pick Walklists
Pick Walklists for a crew of up to 10 users on 5,000 addresses that accepts a 12-month term, or for a campaign that wants a free Starter. Pick CanvassLite for a larger crew on one list, or for a seasonal push with no term. Knockio suits a crew that wants per-user billing with no contract. CanvassLite vs Ecanvasser covers a second app that prices by list size.
